Privacy Policy

Thanks for being a part of our Robot Revolution family. We respect your privacy and the privacy of your child. In general; Robot Revolution does not sell or rent customer, subscriber, or website visitor information under any circumstances. We use any information we collect to help better serve you and your children.

Please note that there are some external services used by Robot Revolution that may have their own privacy policies as indicated below.

Information you provide

It’s the nature of modern technology; a lot of data can easily be collected and stored. When you sign up for classes, browse our site, or communicate with us in any way, you’re giving us information.

When you visit our site

For visitors to our website, we generally log requests.  This includes data such as IP address, geolocation, operating system, browser, time stamp, page requested, and language header. Our site uses cookies to help it work more effectively. We do use Google Analytics to help determine who is visiting the site, but we do not use any other 3rd party trackers, super cookies, or ad networks.

When you sign up for mailing list

We use Mailchimp to service our mailing list. Your email address, name, and location are stored by Mailchimp, but (per their privacy policy) they do not use any of that information. Mailchimp does use a single pixel gifs, also called a web beacon, in emails we send. These web beacons allow us to collect information about when you open the email, your IP address, your browser and email client type.

When you register for a class

In addition to the information above, registering for a class requires additional information collection that may include your and your name, physical address, email address, phone number, gender, location, birth date, purchase history, and other demographic information.

Credit card information is never stored on the Robot Revolution servers. Credit cards are encrypted and passed directed to our credit card processor, Braintree. Braintree is a validated Level 1 PCI DSS Compliant Service Provider. They are on Visa's Global Compliant Provider List and MasterCard's SDP List.

When using social media

We maintain presences on social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Any information, communications, or materials you submit to us via a social media platform is done at your own risk without any expectation of privacy. We cannot control the actions of other users of these platforms or the actions of the platforms themselves. Your interactions with those features and platforms are governed by the privacy policies of the companies that provide them.

How we use your information

Class Improvements

Information we gather is used by us to construct better classes, make better scheduling choices, and make sure that we best serve you and your children.

Direct Promotion

There are a variety of reasons we may directly contact you using the information you have provided. If you leave your personal information with us and don’t sign up for any classes, we may send you an email asking if you want to sign up. If you have attended a class in the past and we think you might benefit from a different class, we may send you an email about it. We also may send you information about events that Robot Revolution puts on or attends. We send news about the school or our students. You can stop receiving our promotional emails by following the unsubscribe instructions included in every email we send.

Communication about your account

This includes sending you email, invoices, receipts, notices of delinquency, and alerting you if we need a different credit card number. We use third parties for secure credit card transaction processing, and we send billing information to those third parties to process your orders and credit card payments. To learn more about the steps we take to safeguard that data, see the security section.

Alert Messages

We may let you know about temporary or permanent changes to our Services, like cancelled classes or weather emergencies.

Marketing and Social Media

We ask for your permission before posting or tagging pictures to social media sites. This permission is part of our class registration process. Granting permission allows us to use pictures, team names, and first names in social media posts, email, and written marketing materials.

Legal Reasons

If we are required by law to disclose the information that you have submitted, we will attempt to provide you with prior notice (unless we are prohibited or it would be futile) that a request for your information has been made in order to give you an opportunity to object to the disclosure. We will attempt to provide this notice by email, if you have given us an email address or by postal mail if you have entered a postal address. If you do not challenge the disclosure request, we may be legally required to turn over your information.

As of the current date, we have not received or acted on any requests of this nature.

Security

Nobody is safe from hackers. If a security breach causes an unauthorized intrusion into our system that materially affects you, we will notify you as soon as possible and later report the action we took in response.

We never store credit card data on Robot Revolution servers. Our credit card processing vendor uses security measures to protect your information both during the transaction and after it’s complete. Braintree is a validated Level 1 PCI DSS Compliant Service Provider. They are on Visa's Global Compliant Provider List and MasterCard's SDP List.

Robot Revolution accounts require a username and password to log in. You must keep your username and password secure, and never disclose it to a third party. Because your data is sensitive, account passwords are encrypted, which means we can’t see your passwords. We can’t resend forgotten passwords either. We’ll only reset them.

We employ industry standard security measures to protect the loss, misuse, and alteration of the information under our control. We encrypt many of our services, including our store checkout and communication with third party service using SSL.

We review our information collection, storage and processing practices, including physical security measures, to guard against unauthorized access to systems.

We restrict access to personal information to employees, contractors and agents who need to know that information in order to process it for us, and who are subject to strict contractual confidentiality obligations and may be disciplined or terminated if they fail to meet these obligations.

Updating or Removing Your Information

We do our best to keep your data accurate and up to date, to the extent that you provide us with the information we need to do that. If your data changes (like a new email address), then you’re responsible for notifying us of those changes.

We’ll retain your information for as long as your account is active or as long as needed to provide you services. We may also retain and use your information in order to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, and enforce our Agreements.

We’ll give an individual, either you or a Subscriber, access to any Personal Information we hold about them within 30 days of any request for that information. Individuals may request this information from us by contacting us. Unless it’s prohibited by law, we’ll remove any Personal Information about an individual, be it you or a Subscriber, from our servers at their request. If we inadvertently collect more personal information than intended, we endeavor to delete the extraneous information. However, please understand that deleted information may continue to persist on backup media.

Changes to Our Policies

Our Privacy Policy may change from time to time. Any revised privacy policy will be consistent with our basic desire to protect sensitive data and use it to improve our service to you. If we make any substantive changes to our policies, we will try to notify you through email.
